Our goal is to provide hope and support to members in their individual recovery journey, creating a safe and nurturing community of peers and like-minded individuals.
Peer mentors have personal experience with a mental health condition and have found ways to recover and improve their daily lives. All of our groups are facilitated by peer mentors as a way to show recovery is possible.
While we offer a variety of mental health support groups, peer support is not group therapy. We do not offer clinical services or medication management.
Establish healthy coping mechanisms, aiding members in understanding themselves, connecting with others, and addressing their recovery goals.
Promote a healthy quality of life and address members' goals related to physical health, nutrition, and overall wellbeing.
Provide our members the opportunity to establish and maintain healthy, positive, and lasting relationships while addressing overall member goals related to indoor recreation and community involvement.
Aid members in finding peace and tranquility while addressing overall goals related to values and wellness.
Below is a selection of some of the groups we offer weekly:
Members learn the process of creating fabric by interlocking loops of yarn, thread, or strands of other materials using a crochet hook. Members learn the basic techniques for knitting.
This support group offers a series of topics requiring active participation and will cover personal assessment of previous work experience; a decision tree to aid in the discovery of career goals, possible further education plan, master application, resume, cover letter, follow up thank letter, telephone etiquette, and professional interview practice.
Join us in karaoke multiple times throughout the week! No singing skills necessary.
An emotional support group for members to share stories and experiences of anxiety while learning new coping strategies and techniques.
Members engage in cooking classes, learning how to budget and prepare healthy foods. Participants will learn how to cook and bake. Previous dishes include: enchiladas, banh mi, and pecan pie!
Chair/Hatha yoga supports members in achieving harmony of the mind, body, and spirit. An optional chair is utilized to assist members and strengthen muscles necessary for each yoga pose.
